Condition Inspection: P-38

Since October 2013, the Lockheed P-38 Lightning – one of the most precious aviation gems of the Flying Bulls fleet – is undergoing an annual, compulsory inspection.

This involves thorough maintenance and overhaul of various cell, hydraulic and electrical components of the P-38.

What’s more, all controls braced with ropes, such as the aileron, elevator and side rudder, are readjusted. In addition, all joints are lubricated and a functionalcheck of the alighting gear is carried out.
