THE TOP HIGHLIGHTS OF 2018

The Flying Bulls’ Events

The Flying Bulls can look back on an incredibly exciting year. Let’s recap the top four highlights of 2018!

The Flying Bulls participated in more than 60 events last year. These events took place in Hungary, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Slovakia - to name but a few countries. Excellent weather conditions throughout meant that hardly any events had to be postponed or cancelled.

4.: THE P-38 IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT

The P-38 "Lightning" certainly took full advantage of this year’s glorious summer weather. Its polished surface looks particularly splendid in sunlight. The fans were delighted, not least by the smoke rings that drew their attention to the almost 75-year-old aircraft.

3.: THE DC-6 ABOVE LONDON

A truly special moment occurred during the so-called “English Weeks” in England. While travelling from one event to the next, The Flying Bulls’ DC-6 flew over London - a very special gift to celebrate the aircraft’s 60th birthday.

2.: THE “ENGLISH WEEKS”

The Flying Bulls felt particularly honoured throughout June and July. The group of pilots headed by Raimund Riedmann were invited to participate in no less than five events on the British Isles. These included the celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force, Europe’s most famous warbird air show, and one of Europe’s largest aircraft trade fairs.

1.: THE HOMECOMING OF THE SYCAMORE

The highlight of the year took place on the 7th of June. On this day, the Sycamore returned to its historical roots during its tour of England. In Bristol, the great-grandson of the founder of the “Bristol Aeroplane Company” personally inspected our Sycamore, the last airworthy model of this particular helicopter type.

HIGHLIGHT 2019: THE AIRPOWER19

The year 2018 was full of exciting moments, but The Flying Bulls are not idle just because the event season has ended. In mid-December we already started planning AIRPOWER19, which will take place on the 6th and 7th of September 2019. The Flying Bulls intend to bring the entire fleet to the event. We’ll keep you posted. That’s a promise!
